Colour Harmony

Applied Colour Psychology is concerned with not just the impact of individual colours, but the emotional response created when colours are combined. In order to create 'Colour Harmony' the colours we combine must be from the same colour group.

Colours are like Musical Notes

"Individual colours do have universal psychological properties, but, as with musical notes, it is only when they are combined that they produce an emotional response – which can be a positive or negative expression of the basic properties of the colour. In isolation, there is no such thing as a good colour, or a bad colour."

- Angela Wright

Applied Colour Psychology

What Applied Colour Psychology gives us, is the ability to apply colour strategically, thus having more predictable impact... not because of individual colours but because of the emotional response created when harmonious groups of colours are combined (to the exclusion of non-harmonious colours). All colour can be grouped into one of 4 groups, and we humans tend to have a strong preference for the colour group most strongly correlated with our personality type. Which type are you?
